The notion of continuous geometry is introduced by \textit{J. von Neumann} [Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 22, 92-100 (1936; Zbl 0014.22307) and Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 22, 101-108 (1936; Zbl 0014.22308)]. In the book ``Kontinuierliche Geometrie'' by \textit{F. Madea} (1958; Zbl 0081.02601)] a fundamental and well-known representation about the results and the progresses until the 1958s is given. In this paper the results of Maeda are exended to show that a reducible continuous geometry can by represented as the continuous sections of a bundle of irreducible continuous geometries. This result is a natural extension of Maeda's subdirect product representation and is helpful in explaining the nature of Maeda's generalized dimension function.
