In this paper the authors study canonical Gorenstein curves, \(C\), that admit a non-singular point, \(P\), with quasisymmetric Weierstrass semigroup. By considering the osculating hyperplane of such curves \(C\) at \(P\) they show that the dimension of the smallest osculating space containing this point is equal to the number of gaps less than \(g-1\). They construct bases for the spaces of higher order differentials, describe the ideal of the canonical curve \(C\) and obtain certain quadratic relations. They also derive an irreducibility criterion for \(C\) expressed in terms of the coefficients of the quadratic relations. Finally, for each quasi-symmetric numerical semigroup they obtain reducible canonical curves with Weierstrass semigroup the given semigroup, and in addition they construct quasi-symmetric semigroups that can not be realized as Weierstrass semigroups of smooth curves.
