Two types of model-matching problems for external models are considered. The first type is about the model-matching of autoregressive systems, and the second type is about finding a controller such that the overall interconnected system is input-output equivalent to a given model. For the first type of model-matching problem, the authors based their study on the theory of behavioral systems and provided necessary conditions for the solvability of the problem. For a special case, the matching problem is completely settled with a constructive algorithm given to determine the solutions. For the second type of model-matching problem, several necessary conditions for the solvability are provided, which turned out to be sufficient conditions for a special case where certain conditions are satisfied.
