A tilde geometry for \(F_ 4(2)\) (Q1368012)

The diagram \(\widetilde F_4\) is obtained from the usual \(F_4\)-diagram by replacing the middle generalized quadrangle with the 3-fold cover of the \(Sp_4(2)\)-quadrangle. The author constructs an \(\widetilde F_4\)-geometry which admits a nonsplit extension \(G\cong 3^{833}F_4(2)\) as a flag transitive automorphism group. The residues of the objects of types 1 and 4 are tilde geometries associated with the group \(3^7 Sp_6(2)\). This result is of interest in the classification of semiclassical geometries.
