The authors describe a fast and new iterative algorithm for solving discrete nonlinear corner-balance (NLCB) equations. These equations appear in the highly accurate NLCB method for obtaining strictly positive solutions of the Boltzmann equation. The authors use an averaged flux method in order to derive a discrete low-order problem. Afterwards Newton's linearization is applied to the low order difference equations which are solved later by Newton's method. Numerical results which demonstrate the efficiency of the method are presented.
