Let \(A\) be a connected finite-dimensional \(k\)-algebra over an algebraically closed field \(k\). An indecomposable \(A\)-module \(M\) of infinite \(k\)-dimension is called a generic module if \(M\), considered as an \(\text{End}(M)\)-module, is of finite length. Such generic modules have been studied intensively by \textit{W. Crawley-Boevey} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 63, No. 2, 241-265 (1991; Zbl 0741.16005)]. In particular, it was shown there that for a tame hereditary algebra \(H\) and a tilting module \(T\) over \(H\) the tilted algebra \(B=\text{End}(T)\) has no generic modules, provided \(B\) is of finite representation type. In the paper under review the author shows that in case the tilted algebra \(B\) has infinite representation type it has a unique generic module \(N\) and moverover, \(\text{End}(N)\) is a division ring. This generalizes a result of \textit{C. M. Ringel} concerning the case of generic modules for tame hereditary algebras [Symp. Math. 23, 321-412 (1979; Zbl 0429.16022)].
