Libration point trajectory design (Q1370356)

The purpose of this paper is to narrow a gap between the astrodynamics and dynamical systems communities by introducing the problems and methods to both communities. On the basis of the circular restricted three body problem and orbits around the equilibrium points \(L_1\) and \(L_2\) of the Sun-Earth-spacecraft system, the author presents his own considerations on libration point missions, including trajectory design issues, the transfer problem, and the need for dynamical system theory.
