The radial vibrations of a thick, transversely isotropic elastic circular cylinder subjected to a uniform axial magnetic field are considered, and the frequency equation is derived in determinant form. Numerical results are provided for the first four roots of the frequency equation, for different thicknesses of the cylinder, and for different intensities of the magnetic field. The investigation shows that the frequency increases when the thickness decreases, for all modes of vibration. Also, it is noticed that the effect of the magnetic field on the mode frequency becomes less significant for higher modes.
