Response of beams of non-linear viscoelastic materials exhibiting strain-dependent stress-relaxation (Q1371533)

The pure bending of a beam is studied for the case of a non-linear viscoelastic material exhibiting strain-dependent stress relaxation. In doing so, the non-linear dependence of the reduced time on strains leads to a response behaviour which differs significantly from that determined by linear viscoelasticity theory. Numerical simulations are performed for the beam curvature control and for the bending moment control.
