In this article the author discusses Killing-Yano tensors (of order two) (skew symmetric tensors \(F_{ab}\) satisfying \(F_{ab;c} +F_{ac;b} =0)\) on spacetimes in general relativity. The paper starts with a nice review of the literature and discussion of the structure of Killing-Yano tensors and their integrability conditions in Newman-Penrose formalism. The author then continues to derive some general theorems and examples of metrics which admit such tensors. Unfortunately, most of these theorems (and more) and several of the examples are known [\textit{G. S. Hall}, Int. J. Theor. Phys. 26, 71-81 (1987; Zbl 0624.53042)]. The reviewer feels that, although the author has covered a wide range in his paper, a more geometrical approach would have made the study simpler. The examples of metrics given contain electrovac, perfect fluid, Bertotti-Robinson, Robertson-Walker, Kerr-Newman, Kantowski-Sachs and generalised \(pp\)-wave metrics. An extensive appendix on these metrics is provided.
