The author examines the motion of a rigid spinner with a hole concentric with its mass center in which a pivot is loosely fitted. Under certain conditions, the spinner may sustain a quasi-steady spin in the pivot's orbiting plane. Both numerical study of the corresponding differential equations and an experimental study of the problem are presented. The results can be used to damp certain undesirable vibrations in the machinery with worn or loosely-fitted bearings.
