Here the authors consider the problem of time-dependent degenerate parametric amplifier. Here both classical and Lie algebraic methods are applied to the solution of the Cauchy problem for Schrödinger equation. The most general solution is obtained under a certain integrability condition. Two cases are considered to show that the Lie algebraic method is more powerful because it avoids the singularity which appears in classical method.
