A boundary element method in time domain is presented which is based on the ``operational quadrature methods'' published by \textit{C. Lubich} [Numer. Math. 52, No. 2, 129-145 (1988; Zbl 0637.65016); ibid. No. 4, 413-425 (1988; Zbl 0643.65094)]. This method uses a quadrature formula which approximates the convolution integral in the time domain for boundary integral equations. The quadrature weights are then determined from the fundamental solutions in Laplace domain. Numerical results are presented for a three-dimensional bar.
