Let \(G\) be a closed nowhere dense subset of a metric space \((X,d)\). Then author proves that the set \(E^*\) of points at which \(E\) is not \(g\)-porous is an \(F_{\sigma}\) first category subset of \((E,d)\). This fact generalizes an old Denjoy's observation. If, moreover, \(E\) is \(G\)-porous, he proves that \(E^*\) is even \(\sigma\)-\(H\)-porous for a function \(H\) (which depends on \(g\) and \(G\)). In the case \(X=R\) analogous results concerning bilateral porosity are given.
