Let \(I\) be the interval \([0,1]\), let \(C(I,I)\) be the class of continuous maps \(I\to I\) and let \(E_0(I,I)\subset C(I,I)\) be the class of maps with zero topological entropy. The authors study the behaviour of the sequences \(\{a_n\}^\infty_{n=0}\), when \(a_{n+1}=f(a_n)\) for \(f\in E_0(I,I)\). In former papers [see, e.g., \textit{L. S. Block} and \textit{W. A. Coppel}, ``Dynamics in one dimension'' (1992; Zbl 0746.58007) or \textit{A. M. Bruckner} and \textit{J. Smítal}, Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 13, No.1, 7-19 (1993; Zbl 0788.58021)], there was for any \(f\in E_0(I,I)\) defined the set \(\Omega (f)\) of non-wandering points and the set \(\omega (f)\) of \(\omega\)-limit points. In the present paper the authors study the structure of the set \(\Omega (f)\setminus \omega (f)\) of non-wandering points that are not \(\omega\)-limits points. They give a characterization of the set of non-wandering points attracted to a given infinite minimal set \(Q\). The subsequent theorem illustrates these ideas by an example.
