The author considers the initial value problem for a delay differential equation and its numerical solution by means of (especially natural) Runge-Kutta methods. Furthermore, the dependence of the region of asymptotic stability on a fixed delay is analyzed. Finally, an algebraic procedure for checking natural Runge-Kutta methods is given, and the stability properties of some high-order methods are studied.
