Topics on a generalization of Gershgorin's theorem (Q1375086)

The author establishes sufficient conditions for the spectrum of a matrix \(A\), in each class of \(3\times 3\) and \(4\times 4\) real symmetric matrices, to be disjoint from its \(k\)-th order Gershgorin region. The problem of providing sufficient conditions for the localization of the spectrum of a matrix in its \(k\)th order Gershgorin region is also discussed.
