Explicit complex-valued solutions of the Korteweg-de Vries equation on the half-line and on the whole line (Q1376317)

The author studies the Cauchy problems for the KdV equation on the half-line (I) and on the whole real line for complex valued and exponentially decreasing potentials (II). The time evolution for the reflection coefficient is derived and a one-to-one correspondence between the scattering data and the solution of the KdV equation on the half-line is proved. Then the explicit solution of the KdV equation is reconstructed from the set of scattering data. The case of a real potential is considered. A similar scheme is used for the case (II). Some helpful examples of soliton solutions of the KdV equation are provided.
