Continuing previous work in [Southeast Asian Bull. Math. 20, 81-88 (1996; Zbl 0856.49022)], the authors obtain several results concerning explicit representation of global Lipschitzian solutions of Cauchy problems of the form: \[ u_t + H(t,\nabla_xu)=0, \;(t,x) \in \Omega:=(0,T)\times \mathbb{R}^n, \;u(0,x)= \sigma (x), \;x\in \mathbb{R}^n; \] such solutions are assumed to satisfy the equation in the classical sense at almost all points in \(\Omega\). In particular, the authors prove that under certain hypotheses, the ``maximal characteristic solution'' defined by: \[ \widetilde u(t,x):=\sup_{y\in \mathbb{R}^n} \Biggl[\sigma (y)+\langle x-y,D\sigma (y)\rangle- \int_0^tH(\tau, D\sigma (y)) d\tau\Biggr] \] is a global Lipschitzian solution; the authors also obtain a slight refinement of Theorem 3.1 of [\textit{M. Bardi} and \textit{L. C. Evans}, Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 8, 1373-1381 (1984; Zbl 0569.35011)] concerning Hopf's representation formula.
