The explicit solution of the static problem of thermoelasticity for an infinite transversally isotropic body, which contains a thermally insulated rigid inclusion in the plane of isotropy, is constructed. It is assumed that the body is subjected to a uniform thermal flux perpendicular to the plane of the inclusion at a sufficient distance from the latter. The stress intensity factors near the tip of the inclusion, which depend on the magnitude of the thermal flux, the dimensions of the inclusion, and the thermoelastic properties of the material, are obtained.
