This paper considers one parameter families \(\{f_t\}\) of \(C^r\) regular maps which start at a hyperbolic toral endomorphism on the torus \(T^2\) and end at an Axiom A regular map which has a one-dimensional repeller. The authors show that some perturbations of such maps \(f_t\) satisfy Axiom A. They also show that the Hausdorff dimension of the nonwandering set \(\Omega (f_t)\) is continuous across bifurcations.
