Adaptive observers for nonlinear nonstationary dynamic systems (Q1380282)

Nonlinear, continuous-time, finite-dimensional nonstationary dynamical systems are considered. The main purpose of the paper is to present a computable method for reducing nonlinear nonstationary dynamical system to the so-called canonical identification form, whose parameters depend on the variables of the parameters in the state equation. Next using the canonical identification form, a method to design an adaptive observer is formulated and discussed. Sufficient stability conditions for the dynamical system with the adaptive observer are presented. Some remarks and comments on the canonical identification form and its role in the theory of nonlinear observers are also given. Similar nonlinear observers problems have been recently considered by \textit{H. Michalska} and \textit{D. Q. Mayne} [IEEE Trans. Autom. Control 40, 995-1006 (1995; Zbl 0832.93007)].
