The \(q\)-Laguerre polynomials are orthogonal with respect to a family of measures, \(\phi(\cdot,\sigma)\), indexed by functions, \(\sigma(z)\), analytic in the upper and lower half planes, satisfying \(\overline{\sigma(z)}=\sigma(\overline{z})\), and taking the upper (lower) half plane into the lower (upper) half plane. The relationship between \(\phi\) and \(\sigma\) is given by \[ \int_{-\infty}^{\infty} {d\phi(t,\sigma) \over z-t} = {A(z) - \sigma(z)C(z) \over B(z) - \sigma(z)D(z)}, \quad {\mathfrak I}z \neq 0. \] \textit{D. S. Moak} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 81, 20-47 (1981; Zbl 0459.33009)] found the functions \(B(z)\) and \(D(z)\). In this paper, the authors find \(A(z)\) and \(C(z)\), rederive \(B(z)\) and \(D(z)\), and solve the analogous problem for the symmetrized \(q\)-Laguerre polynomials.
