Denote by \((M,g)\) a Riemannian 4-manifold of bounded geometry. Let \(P\to M \) be a principal \(G\)-bundle, where \(G\) is a compact Lie group. Denote by \(B(p,s)\) the closed geodesic ball of radius \(s\) centered at \(p\in M\) and by \(\Omega (p,r_0,r_1)\) the closure of the annulus \(B(p,r_1) \setminus B(p,r_0)\). For the connection \(A\) denote by \(F_A\) its curvature and for an open \(\Omega \subset M_-\) denote by \(\| F_A \|_\Omega\) the \(L^2\)-norm of \(F_A\) in \(\Omega\). The first result of the paper reads as follows: Theorem 1.1. There exist constants \(C,\varepsilon_0, \rho>0\), depending on \((M,g)\) and \(G\), such that if \(0\leq 4r_0 \leq r_1\leq \rho\) and \(A\) is a Yang-Mills connection on \(\Omega= \Omega (p,r_0, r_2)\) with \(\| F_A\|^2_\Omega \leq\varepsilon_0\), then \[ \bigl| F_A(y) \bigr| \leq C\left( {r^2_0 \over | y|^2} +{1\over r^2_1} \right)\cdot \| F_A \|_\Omega. \] Observe that letting \(r_0\to 0\) we obtain that \(| F_A(y)|\) is bounded on \(B(p,r_2) \setminus \{p\}\). This leads to a proof of the removable singularity theorem of Freed-Uhlenbeck. A number of other estimates are given.
