Using Helly's theorem, the author proves the following result: If \(K\) and \(L\) are convex bodies in Euclidean \(n\)-space such that every simplex that contains \(L\) also contains some translate of \(K\), then \(L\) itself contains a translate of \(K\). The following corollary strengthens a result originally due to \textit{W. Weil} [Mathematika 21, 19-25 (1974)]: If \(K\) and \(L\) are convex bodies such that \(V_1 (\Delta,K)\leq V_1 (\Delta,L)\) for every simplex \(\Delta\) (where \(V_1 (\Delta,K)\) is the mixed volume with \(K\) taken once), then some translate of \(K\) is contained in \(L\).
