Lambda operations on the homology of a Lie algebra of matrices (Q1382108)

The author extends lambda-operations [see \textit{J. L. Loday} and \textit{C. Procesi}, Algebraic \(K\)-theory, connections with geometry and topology, NATO ASI Series C 279, 209-224 (1989; Zbl 0719.19002)] from the cyclic homology of a commutative \(K\)-algebra \(A\) to the homology of the Lie algebra \({\mathfrak {gl}}_\infty (A)\), using exterior powers of matrices. He shows a formula giving their behaviour with respect to the direct sum of matrices. This formula uses the coproduct and the structure of a ring object, induced by the tensor product of matrices.
