Supplement on curved flats in the space of point pairs and isothermic surfaces: A quaternionic calculus (Q1383288)

[This paper is a supplement to the paper by \textit{U. Hertrich-Jeromin} and \textit{F. Pedit}, ibid., 313-333 (1997; Zbl 0892.53003), reviewed above.] A quaternionic calculus for surface pairs in the conformal \(4\)-sphere is elaborated. Then this calculus is used to discuss the relation of Darboux and Christoffel pairs of isothermic surfaces and curved flats in the symmetric space of point pairs.
