A stronger stability result for predictive model-based generalized control is derived. It is demonstrated that the explicit equations for the vector of predicted control increments, which meet the end-point constraint, exist and can be written down by inspection. The formulation is based on breaking the controls und solutions into two parts: a particular solution which meets the end-point constraint and a part which affects only the predicted output within the given horizon. It is also demonstrated that a mean-level control strategy exists for an unstable plant even with less stringent end-point constraints. Explicit prediction equations for control increments which drive the predicted output asymptotically to the correct set-point in the case of an unstable plant are derived. The approach used in this paper is claimed to be robust and computationally efficient.
