The possibilities to represent the prime distributive rings as special pullbacks of suitable rings are studied. One of the main results is the following. Let \(R\) be a ring having a completely prime ideal \(Q\) contained in \(J(R)\). Then \(R\) is a prime distributive ring if and only if there exists a prime chain ring \(T\) containing \(R\) and having \(Q\) as its maximal ideal and a distributive domain \(D\), whose skew field of fractions equals \(T/Q\), such that \(R\) is the pullback \(\pi^{-1}(D)\), where \(\pi\colon T\to T/Q\) is canonical.
