Recently, \textit{A. Bejancu} and \textit{K. L. Duggal} [Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 16, 545-556 (1993; Zbl 0787.53048)] introduced the concept of \((\varepsilon)\)-Sasakian manifolds \((\varepsilon =\pm 1)\) as a generalization of Sasakian manifolds, suitable for a semi-Riemannian metric. In this paper, the authors prove that every \((\varepsilon)\)-Sasakian manifold must be a real hypersurface of some Kählerian manifold. They also give three necessary and sufficient conditions for a Riemannian manifold to have an \((\varepsilon)\)-Sasakian structure.
