The author constructs a 1-convex smooth algebraic surface \(X\) which is simply connected and whose exceptional set \(S\) is an elliptic curve. There exist holomorphic line bundles \(L\) on \(X\) which are continuously trivial on \(X\), holomorphically trivial near \(S\) but which are not holomorphically trivial on \(X\). Thus the uniqueness statement from the Oka's principle in the case of Stein spaces does not necessarily hold for the 1-convex case.
