On embeddings of Ahrens-Szekeres generalized quadrangles (Q1385225)

In Arch. Math. 23, 329-336 (1972; Zbl 0236.50007) \textit{K. J. Dienst} and \textit{U. Ott} gave an unusual description of the affine \(3\)-space \(AG(3,q)\). In the paper under review the author uses this description of \(AG(3,q)\), for \(q\) odd, to construct a series of embeddings of the Ahrens-Szekeres generalized quadrangle ASGQ into \(AG(3,q)\). He constructs a rank \(3\)-geometry \(\Gamma\) as follows: the points, lines and planes are the points, lines of \(AG(3,q)\) and the embeddings of ASGQ into \(AG(3,q)\), respectively, and incidence is inclusion. He shows that \(\Gamma\) has a string diagram and that the residue of a plane is an ASGQ.
