Recombination does not occur uniformly across chromosomes in most species. This phenomenon called interference is determined by the process of chiasma formation along the chromosome. Interference may be positive, if e.g. the occurrence of recombination between two adjacent markers implies a reduced chance of recombination for the next marker, or negative. As a measure of interference the higher order interference measure introduced by \textit{S. Karlin} and \textit{U. Liberman} [Theor. Popul. Biol. 46, No. 2, 198-231 (1994; Zbl 0823.92014)] is used. In this paper some special discrete chiasma formation models are considered and the nature of their interference is determined. Moreover, a model is presented where the associated recombination frequency between two markers depends not only on their map distance but also on their location along the chromosome.
