The paper deals with Smoluchowski's model of the time evolution of particles in dispersive systems. The unknown distribution of particles is a function \(c(x,t,z)\) where \(x\geq 0\) is the mass of a particle at time \(t\) located at \(z\in\mathbb{R}^3\). \(c\) is a solution of an initial value problem for an integro-differential equation. An existence and uniqueness result is established for this problem with small initial data, with vanishing scalar speed of particle growth and with the velocity of space transfer of particles independent of the position \(z\).
