The transformation of a given finite-dimensional stationary nonlinear control system to a linear stationary control system is considered. In order to solve this problem, the so-called algebra of functions is extensively used. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a global transformation is formulated and proved. Moreover, the so-called redundancy of the dynamical systems is discussed. Finally, a simple illustrative numerical example is given. It should be pointed out that the given algorithm of transformation may be used for continuous and discrete dynamical systems. Similar transformation problems have been considered in the paper [\textit{L. R. Hunt}, \textit{R. Su} and \textit{G. Meyer}, IEEE Trans. Autom. Control AC-28, No. 1, 24-31 (1983; Zbl 0502.93036)].
