In \(\mathbb{C}^2\), there exists a completely real disk with boundary the unit circle \[ \bigl\{(z_1,z_2) \in\mathbb{C}^2: | z_1|=1,\;z_2=0 \bigr\}. \] The author shows: there are no similar examples in \(\mathbb{C}^{m+1}\), \(m\geq 2\). There does not exist a CR-submanifold in \(\mathbb{C}^{m+1}\) diffeomorphic to the closed \(2m\)-dimensional ball \(B^{2m}\), of CR-dimension \(m-1\), with boundary \[ \bigl\{(z_1, z_2,\dots, z_{m+1})\in \mathbb{C}^{m+1}: | z_1|^2+ | z_2 |^2 +\cdots+ | z_m|^2= 1,\quad z_{m+1} =0\bigr\}. \] This follows from: if a closed ball \(B^{2m}\) is realized as a \(2m\)-dimensional CR-manifold \(D\) in \(\mathbb{C}^{m+1}\), of CR-dimension \(m-1\), then \(\partial D\subset \mathbb{C}^{m+1}\) is not maximal complex. An example \(D\subset\mathbb{C}^3\), \(D\) diffeomorphic to \(S^1\times B^3\), is given with \(D\) a CR-manifold of CR-dimension 1 and \(\partial D\) a maximal complex submanifold in \(\mathbb{C}^3\).
