The authors present new massive non-ghost solutions for the Einstein-Cartan-Dirac equations. The spin of the Dirac field is identified with the torsion of the gauge field by means of a gauge-theoretical formulation of gravity. The authors find expanding and collapsing singular solutions and a solution which expands from a singularity before recollapsing. In the solutions of cosmological importance, torsion effects are only relevant while the Compton wavelength of the Dirac field is larger than the Hubble radius and lead to anisotropy in the solutions. The authors study the motion of spinning point-particles in the background of the expanding solution. The anisotropy due to the torsion is evident in the particle trajectories.
