The authors review and compare several variants of the Schwarz domain decomposition method for solution of the system of linear equations arising from finite volume discretization of the 2-D advection-diffusion equation. In particular, the Schwarz-Schwarz, Neumann-Schwarz, Robin-Schwarz and Neumann-Dirichlet methods are considered together with Krylov space acceleration. The performance of the algorithms is compared on the solution of a model problem and the results are compared with the theory.
