Asymptotics of exterior ellipsoidal bounds for attainability sets of linear singularly perturbed control systems (Q1390500)

The control problems for systems described by linear differential equations with singular perturbations (the case of slow and fast variables) are considered. The limit behavior of the upper bounds for the attainability domains of the system is under investigation. The upper bounds mentioned above are taken as the exterior ellipsoids with the well-known description of their centers and matrices. Using the method of boundary layer functions the authors obtain the formulas for the asymptotics of the ellipsoidal estimates. The problem of the jump of the orientation matrix due to the kind of the ellipsoid of initial states and the problem of approximation by ellipsoids with minimal volumes are also studied.
