This paper extends to quaternionic space some results of complex analysis. Suppose that \(\Omega\) is a domain in the quaternions \({\mathbb Q}\) which is starlike relative to the origin and which has Lipschitz boundary \(\Sigma\). Given a (complexified-quaternionic-valued) function \(f\) in \(L^2(\Sigma)\), it is shown that \(f\) may be written as \(f_0+f_\infty\), where \(f_0\) and \(f_\infty\) have well-behaved quaternionic-holomorphic extensions in \(\Omega\) and in \({\mathbb Q}\setminus{\overline{\Omega}}\), respectively. Doing this involves the development of a theory of singular integrals adapted to this context. This theory also includes a functional calculus for the Dirac operator \(D\), so that functions \(m(D)\) can be defined as bounded operators on \(L^2(\Sigma)\) (or \(L^p(\Sigma)\), where \(1<p<\infty\)) provided that \(m\) is bounded and holomorphic in a cone, whose angle depends on the Lipschitz constant of \(\Sigma\). The singular integrals constructed are given by kernel operators whose kernels \(k(x,y)\) are of the form \(f(x-y)\) where \(f\) is quaternionic-holomorphic.
