It is shown that under certain conditions the boundary value problem for an ordinary singularly perturbed integro-differential equation has a solution with an inner intermediate layer (which is a contrast step-tipe structure). An asymptotics of this solution is constructed. The asymptotics is validated by the asymptotic method of differential inequalities developed for a new class of problems.
