The author proves the following result: Let \(n\) and \(m\) be two positive integers such that \(n\) and \(2m\) have no common factors and \(n>8+4m\). Take \(\{a,b,c\}\subset \mathbb{C}-\{0\}\) such that \(a^2-4b\not=0\) and the algebraic equation \[ z^n+az^{n-m}+bz^{n-2m}+c=0 \] has no multiple roots. Then the set of roots of this algebraic equation is a unique range set for meromorphic functions on \(\mathbb{C}\). There are many results for the case \(b=0\)[cf. \textit{P. C. Hu, P. Li} and \textit{C. C. Yang}, Unicity of meromorphic mappings, Kluwer Academic Publishers (2003; Zbl 1074.30002)].
