The paper under review shows the equivalence of geometric properties of a lattice \(L\) in \({\mathbb R}^n\) and the \(L\)-type domain in \({\mathbb R}^{n\choose 2}\), which is associated with a basis of \(L\) and a quadratic form \(f\) respectively. In particular, if \(H\) is a lattice hyperplane with normal unit vector \(e\), then the equivalence is: (i) \(H\) does not intersect any of \(L\)'s Delaunay polytopes with vertex at the origin in their interior. (\(H\) is a lamina of \(L\)). (ii) The edges of the Voronoi polytope \(P_v\), parallel to \(e\) form a \textsl{closed zone}. That is, every two dimensional face of \(P_v\) meets either two or none of them. (iii) The \(\epsilon\)-extension \(L^\epsilon\) (obtained by keeping \(H\cap L\) and enlarging the minimum distance of lattice hyperplanes parallel to \(H\) by \(\epsilon\)) has the same \(L\)-type for all \(\epsilon >0\). (iv) The rank \(1\) form \(f_e=(e,\sum_{i=1}^n b_i x_i)^2\) is on an extreme ray of the closure of \(f\)'s \(L\)-type domain.
