Alexander-Spanier cohomology of foliated manifolds (Q1397196)

Based upon Alexander-Spanier cochains, the author introduces a construction that allows him to define a spectral sequence for spaces with two topologies, similar to the de Rham spectral sequence for a foliation. This allows him to define two new spectral sequences for a foliation in addition to the de Rham spectral sequence. He compares the continuous (continuous cochains) and the differentiable (differentiable cochains) cohomologies for a smooth foliated manifold and the latter with the de Rham cohomology. For a Riemannian foliation, he proves that all of the three related spectral sequences are isomorphic from the \(E_2\)-term onwards.
