Ellipsoidal estimation on solutions to differential equations by means of matrix comparison systems (Q1397534)

The author develops the method of matrix comparison systems for estimating solution sets to differential equations. It is shown that the matrix comparison system describes the evolution of ellipsoids containing solutions to a given system with initial data in a given ellipsoid. Methods for constructing matrix comparison systems for differential equations with polynomial right-hand sides and linear nonautonomous systems with undetermined parameters are suggested. Numerical integration of matrix comparison systems is employed for establishing estimates on solution sets and attainability sets.
