This paper is a contribution to determining the membership of the variety of finite semigroups \(\mathbf O\), which is generated by all semigroups of isotone mappings on finite chains. It is known for instance that \(\mathbf O\) is self-dual, contains the variety \(\mathbf{POI}\) generated by all semigroups of injective isotone partial transformations, but does not contain \(\mathbf R\), the variety of \(\mathcal R\)-trivial semigroups. The principal result is that \(\mathbf O\) contains all semidirect products of chains (which are treated as semilattices) by semigroups of all injective partial transforms of finite chains.
