The authors consider the dynamic evaluation of property rights regimes in R\&D alliances between two parties that both decide whether to disclose their know-how and invest effort. Different scenarios that show how the allocation of control rights may change over time due to a trade-off between including know-how disclosure and ensuring maximum effort are characterized.
