Let \(S_H\) denote the class of complex valued, harmonic, sense preserving functions in the unit disc \(D=\{z: | z| <1\}\) which have the form \[ f(z)=h(z)+\overline{g(z)} \] where \[ h(z)=z+\sum_{n=2}^{\infty}a_nz^n,\qquad g(z)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}b_nz^n. \] The authors consider the subclasses of \(S_H\): \[ HP(\beta)=\{f=h+\overline{g}\in S_H: \text{Re}(h'(z)+g'(z))>\beta, \quad 0\leq\beta<1\} \] and \[ HP^*(\beta)=\{f\in HP(\beta); a_n\leq0, n=2, 3, \dots; b_n\leq0, n=1, 2,\dots\}. \] Distortion and covering theorems for \(HP^*(\beta)\) and extreme points of the closed convex hull of \(HP^*(\beta)\) are determined. It is proved that functions from \(HP^*(\beta)\) are starlike in \(D\) and a sufficient condition for \(f\) to be a member of \(HP(\beta),\) has been found.
