Let \(X\) be a rearrangement invariant space on \(I=[0,1]\) and \(X(I\times I)\) be the corresponding space on \(I\times I\). The multiplicator space \(\mathcal{M}(X)\) is the set of all functions \(x(s)\) such that \(x(s)y(t)\in X(I\times I)\) for arbitrary \(y\in X\). The nice part \(N_0(X)\) of \(X\) is the set of all \(a\in X\) for which the subspaces generated by sequences of dilations and translations of \(a\) are uniformly complemented. The authors investigate these spaces. In particular, they show that the multiplicator space and the nice part of \(X\) coincide when \(X\) is separable. In the general case, the nice part is larger then the multiplicator space. Descriptions of \(\mathcal{M}(X)\) and \(N_0(X)\) for Lorentz, Orlicz and Marcinkiewicz spaces are presented.
