Let \(\Lambda\) be a finite dimensional algebra over a field \(k\). Consider the \(k(x)\)-algebra \(\Lambda^{k(x)}=\Lambda\otimes_kk(x)\), where \(k(x)\) is the field of rational functions over \(k\). Let \(G\) be a left \(\Lambda^{k(x)}\)-module which is indecomposable as a \(\Lambda\)-module and has finite dimension over \(k(x)\) (then \(G\) is a generic \(\Lambda\)-module in the sense of \textit{W. Crawley-Boevey} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 63, No. 2, 241-265 (1991; Zbl 0741.16005)]). The main result of the paper asserts that the connected component of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of \(\Lambda^{k(x)}\) which contains \(G\) is a tube or has the shape \(\mathbb{Z} A_\infty\), \(\mathbb{Z} D_\infty\) or \(\mathbb{Z} B_\infty\). Moreover, \(G\) is at the mouth of this component.
